9 killed in landmine blast
PATNA, SEPT. 12. Nine persons, including six policemen, were
killed and three others injured in a landmine blast and
subsequent encounter in Bihar's naxal-hit Kaimur district today.
The Inspector-General of Police (Operation), Mr. Neelmani, told
PTI that six policemen patrolling in a vehicle were killed and
three others injured when suspected extremists detonated a
landmine near Keva Canal under Chainpur police station. Policemen
travelling in another vehicle challenged the ultras after the
blast and killed three of them on the spot, he said.
