A crime against humanity: Narayanan
NEW DELHI, SEPT. 12. The President, Mr. K.R. Narayanan, today
expressed ``grief and great indignation'' on the attacks by
terrorists in New York and Washington saying ``this reprehensible
act is a crime not just against the United States, but against
all humanity''.
``The images of the horror perpetrated in New York and Washington
D.C. will remain etched on the collective conscienceness of the
world as a signal that terrorism had become the greatest threat
of our times'', he said in his message to the U.S. President, Mr.
George W. Bush.
He said terrorism was not constrained by distance and resources,
restricted by boundaries or bound by any civilised norms. ``The
world community must rise as one to respond decisively to this
collective challenge to the peace, security and progress of the
entire mankind.''
``We stand united with the American people in this hour of
grief'', he said.
