Arafat donates blood
GAZA CITY, SEPT 12. The Palestinian leader, Mr. Yasser Arafat,
donated blood at a hospital here today for victims of the terror
attacks in the U.S. ``We will give what we can for this
tragedy,'' he said. ``This is the beginning of a campaign by the
Palestinian people to donate blood.''
Mr. Arafat said he would ``call for a minute's silence in memory
of the innocent people'' killed ``and mourn for their souls.'' He
did not say when the period of silence would be observed.
Asked what his message was to the American people, he said three
times in English: ``God bless you.''
