UDF dharna before Corpn. office

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, SEPT. 12. The women's wing of the UDF city committee today staged a dharna in front of the City Corporation office to protest the alleged smear campaign launched by the Mayor and the LDF against UDF workers.

UDF leaders who addressed the dharna alleged that the Mayor was distorting facts to tarnish the image of UDF union workers in the Corporation and gain political mileage out of it. The Opposition leader, Mr. Maheswaran Nair, inaugurated the dharna. UDF councillors including, Mr. Thampanoor Satheesh, Mr.Johnson Joseph and Mr. Sudarsanan also addressed the sit-in.
