Teachers call off strike

GANDHINAGAR, SEPT. 12. The agitating secondary and higher secondary teachers of the Government grant-in-aided schools in Gujarat today called off their 14-day old indefinite strike, following the State Government's assurance to consider their demands sympathetically.

The strike was called off following a meeting between the Chief Minister, Mr. Keshubhai Patel, and leaders of the agitating teachers' association here at the mediation of the Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries, Dr. Vallabh Kathiriya.
