Teachers call off strike
By Our Special Correspondent
GANDHINAGAR, SEPT. 12. The agitating secondary and higher
secondary teachers of the Government grant-in-aided schools in
Gujarat today called off their 14-day old indefinite strike,
following the State Government's assurance to consider their
demands sympathetically.
The strike was called off following a meeting between the Chief
Minister, Mr. Keshubhai Patel, and leaders of the agitating
teachers' association here at the mediation of the Union Minister
of State for Heavy Industries, Dr. Vallabh Kathiriya.
