No air raids on Iraq: U.S.
WASHINGTON, SEPT. 13. American and British Air Forces had not
launched any strikes in southern Iraq today contrary to Iraqi
claims, a Pentagon official said.
The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the
U.S. forces had flown patrols over southern Iraq but did not
engage in any attacks.
The official Iraqi news agency INA claimed that U.S. and British
warplanes had carried out a raid in Wassel province, destroying
several houses.
