HC vacates interim injunction on Kumaran Silks

By Our Staff Reporter

CHENNAI, SEPT. 13. The First Bench of the Madras High Court has vacated an interim injunction on the Sri Kumaran Silks Trade Limited from opening any showroom or continuing construction activities on its property on the Usman Road, T.Nagar.

The Bench comprising the then acting Chief Justice, Mr. K. Narayana Kurup, and Mr. Justice A. Ramamurthy, vacated the stay granted on August 20, when counsel for the company submitted that the showroom was inaugurated a day before the stay was granted.

Noting that the stay order had become infructuous, the Bench said ``it is open to the petitioner (Mr. Ibrahim Sha) to proceed with the contempt application, if any, and the same will be disposed of separately''.
