MCH development plan from April

HYDERABAD, SEPT. 13. The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad
Commissioner, Mr. P.K. Mohanty, has said the implementation of
the proposed MCH developmental plan from April 2002 would
coincide with that of the 10th five-year plan of the Government
of India.
Speaking at the City Coordination Committee meeting on Thursday,
Mr. Mohanty said that officials of various departments and
representatives of non-governmental organisations and private
corporate bodies would take part in preparation of the MCH
developmental plan.
He observed that the vision of the MCH would be in tune with the
goals and objectives enshrined in the Vision-2020 document.
Mr. Ajay Pande, Chief Operating Officer, Tata Teleservices Ltd.,
A.P., said that his company would invest Rs. 500 crores in the
State over the next six months and recruit nearly 4,000 employees
as part of expansion of its services. The company had already
invested Rs. 1,100 crores in the State.
Mr. Pandey said that Tata Teleservices was contemplating
introduction of the Digital Subscriber Lines for quicker and
faster internet downloads, High Speed Data Lines for Government
and Corporate bodies for bulk data transfer and a Fibre Optic
network that would enhance the capability for better bandwidth.
The Area Manager of Reliance, Mr. Krishnamohan, said that
Reliance company was using trenchless technology to lay new
communication lines in the city.
The Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board Managing
Director, Mr. M.G. Gopal, and the Deputy Commissioner of Police,
Traffic, Mr. M.V. Dinakar Prasad, were present.
