Shares crash
MUMBAI, SEPT. 14 Shares succumbed to heavy panic selling on the
National Stock Exchange here today and nosedived, following fears
of an immediate U.S. assault on Afghanistan in retaliation to
Tuesday's terrorist attacks. The rupee fell to a lowest-ever
close of 47.82/84 against the dollar, pulled down by hectic
dollar demand from banks over fears of retaliation by the U.S.
