Masood laid to rest
PESHAWAR, SEPT. 15 The body of anti-Taliban military commander,
Ahmad Shah Masood, who died yesterday of injuries sustained in an
assassi-nation attempt on Sunday, was buried in Panjsher town in
northern Afghanistan today, the AIP said.
The ousted Afghan President, Mr. Rabbani, and thousands of
Masood's supporters were present.
Masood (49) was the chief commander of the opposition northern
alliance which controls about ten per cent of the territory in
northeastern Afghanistan.
