Inflation rate dips to 4.99 p.c.

NEW DELHI, SEPT. 16. The inflation rate dipped by 0.28 percentage points to 4.99 per cent in the week ended September 1, due to fall in prices of some manufactured products.

The point-to-point annual inflation rate based on the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) for all commodities (base: 1993-94 = 100), was on the rise in the previous three weeks to touch 5.27 per cent in the week ended August 25.
