HC maintains Jadeja's plea

NEW DELHI, SEPT. 17. The Delhi High Court today overruled the preliminary objections of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over the maintainability of Mr. Ajay Jadeja's petition challenging the five-year ban imposed on him in the wake of match-fixing allegations.

Dismissing the BCCI objection, Mr. Justice Mukul Mudgal said `` the preliminary objection by the respondents of the maintainability of the writ is rejected''

Fixing November 19 for further direction, the Judge said `` the question whether the court should interfere in the facts of the present case, is to be decided in the light of the tests laid down by the Supreme Court on writ jurisdiction.''
