Poetic forms
The shapes are fluid, flawless. The colour schemes, subtle. Take
a look at the Deyali Nanji Devraj creations. Expressive and
poetic, the works are perfect for tastefully done-up interiors.
At a show in the city, from September 20 to 23, at Island
Grounds, the best of Parian porcelain will be showcased. The
range includes beautiful figurines of fragile women with finely
chiselled features, cherubic kids and religious images.
Parian originated from the word Paros - an idyllic island in
Greece. Parian marble is known for its clarity, and the Nanji
Brothers have painstakingly worked on the medium to create
exquisite pieces of art. The production of each figurine takes
about four to five months.
The range starts at Rs. 1,400 and goes up to Rs. 12,500, as
"Porcelain at not-so-prohibitive prices" is the Nanji Brothers'
watchword.
