CM outlines steps to nail land-grabbers
By Our Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD, SEPT. 20. An officer of the rank of Superintendent of
Police will be attached to the Collectorates of Hyderabad and
Ranga Reddy exclusively to control the activities of land-
grabbers and encroachers. A special task force will also be
created to deal with such encroachers.
These decisions were taken at a review meeting presided over by
the Chief Minister, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, at his chambers in
the Assembly today. He discussed with top officials the steps to
be taken to protect vacant lands in the twin cities and in Ranga
Reddy district.
He instructed officials to identify all vacant lands belonging to
the Government, private institutions and tanks and directed them
to computerise the particulars.
To prevent gullible public from purchasing lands under
litigation, the officials were told to place all particulars on
the Internet and to issue advertisements in local newspapers to
educate the public, according to an official press note.
The meeting was attended by Messrs. P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju,
Revenue Minister, Dr. P.K. Mohanty, MCH Commissioner, Ms. Lakshmi
Parthasarathy, HUDA Managing Director, P. Ramulu, Police
Commissioner, Rajeshwar Tiwari, Hyderabad Collector, and Ajay
Jain, Ranga Reddy Collector.
