Compaq Financial starts India operations

MUMBAI, SEPT. 20. Compaq Financial Services Corporation (CFS),
the wholly owned leasing and financial asset management
subsidiary of Compaq Computer Corporation, today announced the
launch of its operations in India to provide a full range of IT
financing solutions for servers, desktops, notebook, networking
equipment, storage solutions, services and software to Compaq
customers throughout India.
``As one of the world's fastest growing IT markets, India is an
ideal geography for Compaq Financial Services,'' said Mr. Irving
H. Rothman, CFS President and CEO. Addressing a press conference
here today, he said, ``We are planning to extend a variety of
financing and asset management solutions to Indian businesses as
we work to provide globally consistent, value-added financial
services to Compaq customers worldwide."
