A rare idol
A RARE IDOL: A four-feet high panchaloka Panchamukha idol of Lord
Vinayaka, weighing 250 kg, and sculpted by S. Devasenapathy
Sthapathy of Thanjavur district, was installed at the Chella
Kattaragama Sri Vinayaka temple, Sri Lanka, on August 21. A rare
idol with five heads and 10 hands, the Lord is seen standing on
the Mooshika vahana. The deity has been donated by O.K. Jayantha
Devendra of Sri Lanka. Devasenapathy Sthapathy was felicitated at
a function there.
