Jayalalithaa now rendered irrelevant: Swamy
By Our Special Correspondent
CHENNAI, SEPT. 22. The swearing in of Mr. O. Paneerselvam as
Chief Minister has rendered Ms.Jayalalithaa ``irrelevant in Tamil
Nadu politics,'' the Janata party president, Dr. Subramanian
Swamy, said today.
Ms. Sasikalaa, associate of Ms. Jayalalithaa, and her family did
not need Ms. Jayalalithaa any more and ``they will ease her
out,'' Dr. Swamy said.
Dr.Swamy advised Mr.Paneerselvam not to repeat the ``mistakes''
of Ms.Jayalalithaa. The Chief Minister should uphold the rule of
law, function within the canons of democratic decency and should
not incite violence, he said.
Dr. Swamy ruled out any electoral understanding or alliance with
the ``pro-LTTE'' MDMK in the local bodies elections. The party
would not put up a Mayoral candidate in Chennai, said
Ms.Chandralekha, State president.
