Law to check cyber crimes urged

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, SEPT. 22. Constitution of cyber law and formulation of adequate devices were necessary to curb the increasing instances of cyber crimes, said Mr. Justice S.R. Naik of the A.P. High Court.

Inaugurating a two-day workshop for judicial officers organised by the A.P. Judicial Academy here on Saturday, he said that unless specific cyber laws were made cyber criminals would continue to disrupt business, hamper the interest of the Government and the law would struggle to punish them, a press release said.

The workshop intends to impart training in advanced technology for strengthening the efficiency of the judicial officers. Mr. Justice B.S.A. Swamy said that the common man had intrinsic faith in the judicial system and the judiciary had

to make concerted efforts to reach their expectations.

The Lok Adalats floated with much fanfare had become ineffective at times as the judgments pronounced there were not being implemented by the executive, he said. Mr. Justice Bilal Najki, felt that the workshop would provide a good opportunity to the judges to interact among themselves on various facets of the judicial process, systems and challenges. Knowledge derived from such meets should be percolated down to the lower courts, he said.

Mr. M. Venkateswar Reddy, Director, A.P. Judicial Academy, High Court Registrars and judges of various courts were present, the release added.
