Ban on Indian TV channels
By B. Muralidhar Reddy
ISLAMABAD, SEPT. 25. All-Pakistan Cable Operators' Association
has decided to impose a countrywide `ban' on airing five Indian
TV news channels ``propagating against Islam and Pakistan'',
according to the leading Pakistani Urdu daily, Jang.
The paper quoted Mr. Tahir Ali Khan, general secretary of the
association in Karachi, as saying that that if any cable operator
violated the decision, he would be considered as ``anti- Pakistan
and Indian agent''.
The channels, which have been blacked out are Zee News, Star
News, Star Plus, Jain TV and all Doordarshan channels.
