Ministers not involved in effigy burning: CM
By Our Special Correspondent
CHENNAI, SEPT. 26. The Chief Minister, Mr. O. Paneerselvam, today
defended his Cabinet colleagues who participated in the recent
controversial AIADMK demonstrations and said they were not
involved in the burning of effigies of any leader.
With the State Ministers coming under fire for the demonstrations
in which Prime Minister's effigies were burnt, Mr. Paneerselvam
told the media here that the protest was only directed at the
DMK.
The DMK president, Mr. M. Karunanidhi, had demanded the ouster of
Ms. Jayalalithaa from chief ministership, even as the case
challenging her appointment was pending before the Supreme Court.
