Rupee ends higher
MUMBAI, SEPT. 26. The rupee ended higher against the U.S.
currency today on renewed exporter dollar sales, extending a
four-session rally, but trading was mostly shallow and quiet at
the inter-bank foreign exchange market.
Closing at 47.8550/8650 a dollar, the rupee gained by another 1-
1/2 paise from Tuesday's finish of 47.87/88 after opening on a
firm note at 47.86/87.
The Indian unit rose by an identical margin yesterday. It has
appreciated by about 14 paise since the start of its rally on
September 20 after depreciating by a whopping 58 paise following
the terrorist attacks on the U.S. on September 11.
