Profit or loss?
Sir, - In the pursuit of its capitalist designs, the United
States invented electricity and spread it everywhere. At least
five lakh people would have been electrocuted, especially in poor
countries. They also introduced the automobile, which is killing
thousands in road accidents. Another invention, the computer, has
robbed lakhs and lakhs of poor people of their jobs. So many
people are sacrificed to keep the U.S. rich.
The U.S. experienced the first surprise attack on its bases at
Pearl Harbour by the Japanese. In retaliation, it dropped atom
bombs on Japan.
When Japan was defeated, the U.S. occupied that country and
helped it rebuild its economy. Now, Japan has become an economic
giant. Perhaps, Afghanistan too may gain in this game.
P. Ayyappan,
Kochi
