Nexgen Logistix in pact with U.K. firm
By Our Corporate Reporter
CHENNAI, SEPT. 27. Nexgen Logistix, an infrastructure technology
management company, has tied up with Satamatics, the U.K. based
telematics service provider, to provide real time satellite based
automated vehicle tracking system for supply chain management in
India.
The $35 million Satamatics is the service arm of the U.K. based
TRL Technologies, hardware supplier globally for Inmarsat, the
world's leading geo-stationary satellite company.
Addressing presspersons here today Mr. Faisal Ali, managing
director, Nexgen Logistix, said the tie-up Satamatics would
enable the company offer a broad spread of reliable, cost-
effective services to a large number of businesses and
organisations.
The MD said Nexgen had been chosen by Inmarsat after a stringent
evaluation process carried out by Inmarsat as its preferred
business partner with a licence to operate in the whole of Asia,
Africa, Europe and Western Australia.
Nexgen will be investing around Rs. 60 crores in a phased manner
to build the necessary infrastructure. The beta testing of the
services will begin by October end.
