Comedy with a message
FOR THE first time, Manoj Creations is making a film that is not
directed by Bharatiraaja. Saran is directing "Alli Arjuna", with
Manoj K. Bharathi and Richa Pallot in the lead. The film, a
comedy, has a message.
The film revolves round a police station. Incidentally, Richa,
who makes her debut in this film has bagged another offer as the
leading lady in a film in which Vijai is the hero.
Both films are slated for Deepavali release.
Saran says that he is against the evil of eve-teasing. "I
strongly feel that eve-teasing should be completely eradicated.
This has been told in a powerful way. But at the same time I have
not ignored the comic element. So it is a sugar coated pill."
Producer Bharatiraaja said it was Saran's film and his company
was producing it.
"I have not gone to the sets at all. I know that the project is
in safe hands and I am confident of its success. Manoj needs this
kind of exposure."
Vaiyapuri, Charlie, Dhamu, Karan, Vinuchakravarthy, `Nizhalgal'
Ravi and Fathima Babu make up the cast. Camera is handled by
Venkat, art is by Mohana Mahendran, dances are choreographed by
Brinda, Cool Jayanth and Lawrence.
Editing has been done by Suresh Urs and lyrics have been penned
by Vairamuthu.
Music is scored by A. R. Rahman. Saran takes care of the story,
screenplay, dialogue and direction.
S. R. ASHOK KUMAR
