Intolerant law
Sir, - A lot is being said about the recent attacks and the focus
is on Afghanistan. But there is another angle to the problem
which has been missed. There are many states such as Saudi
Arabia, where propagating a religion other than the state
religion is forbidden. The fact that states can exist with such
radically intolerant laws provides a model of governance, which
many elements try to emulate and if possible improve upon.
There are no easy answers for this problem. But I think that the
leaders of the world will have to come face to face with this
problem some day.
