'Include sex education in curriculum'

PONDICHERRY, SEPT. 30. The Speaker, Mr. M.D.R. Ramachandharan, on
Saturday said there should be proper rehabilitation of sex
workers and sex education as such should be included in
curriculum.
Speaking at a workshop on `issues of sex workers' children',
organised by the Society for Development, Research and Training,
in collaboration with the Indian Journalists Union (Pondicherry)
here, he said the role of the media in propagating the
implications of AIDS should be properly recognised and given
importance.
Mr. C. Jayakumar, Local Administration Minister, who inaugurated
the workshop, referred to crucial role of the media in building
up an awareness on AIDS and its sad implications.
Mr. Maalan, Editor of SUN Network, Chennai, Mr. Annbilal Kennedy,
MLA, and a host of others spoke.
Ms. Shyamala Ashok, Executive Director of SFDRT, welcomed the
gathering.
