Stern warning to Pak.
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI, OCT.1. India today issued a virtual ultimatum to
Pakistan to stop aiding and abetting terrorism after militants
led by a suicide bomber attacked the Jammu and Kashmir assembly
today.
``India cannot accept such manifestation of hate and terror form
across its borders. There is a limit to India's patience'', a
hard-hitting statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs
after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security concluded
this evening said.
The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), presided over by the
Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee, met for nearly two
hours late this evening to discuss the prevailing security
situation in Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of the storming of the
State Assembly.
The statement described the Pakistani President, Gen. Pervez
Musharraf's declarations that the offices of the Harkat-ul-
Mujahideen, a known terrorist group had been closed as a
`cosmetic step'' taken under international pressure. Pakistan, it
said ``continues to be a country that aids, abets and sponsors
terrorism and terrorist networks.''
