India, Russia discuss terrorism

MOSCOW, OCT. 1. India and Russia today discussed fight against terrorism in all its forms through joint efforts of the international community.

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Georg Mamedov, and the Indian Ambassador to Russia, Mr. K. Raghunath, discussed international situation in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks in the U.S. and stressed the need to form a broad international coalition to combat terrorism at a global scale, the Russian Foreign Office sources said.

Mr. Mamedov, Russia's pointman in high-profile security dialogue with the U.S. State Department, is also believed to have briefed Mr. Raghunath on the intensive interaction between Moscow and Washington in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

According to sources, they also examined disarmament and non- proliferation issues.
