Hughes Tele subscriber base exceeds one lakh lines

MUMBAI, OCT. 1. Hughes Tele.com (India) (HTIL), fixed telephony services provider in Maharashtra and Goa circles, has announced that its customer base has exceeded one lakh lines spread over ten cities in Maharashtra and Goa.

The ten cities include Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Panjim, Nasik, Nagpur, Ahmednagar, Kolhapur, Aurangabad, Sangli and some rural and remote areas.The company also announced the launch of its village public telephone (VPT) services in remote rural areas in the Sinhagad valley of Pune district.

Mr. Prakesh Bajpai, president and CEO of HTIL, said, ``With the end of the monsoons, we expect a rapid built-out of our network and subscriber base along with a significant increase in the number of VPTs commissioned during the next six months.''
