By Our Staff Reporter
CHENNAI, OCT. 2. Gemini Communications (GCL), a total networking
solutions provider, and enmail.com Private Limited, an
application service provider of email and messaging services,
have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop and market
customised networking and messaging solutions.
Addressing a press conference here today, Mr. Ram Kumer, CEO of
Gemini Communications, said the alliance would develop, deliver
and market wireless e-mail services for business subscribers.
Both the partners had proposed to promote the technology in the
growing rural segment of Internet users, apart from the urban
users.
He said the company had offices in ten cities in the country and
one in the U.S. Last year, the company's networking division had
generated a revenue of Rs. 21 crores.
Mr. Karthik Iyer, CEO of enmail.com, said the company was
targeting the large segment of Indian corporates. He said the
pilot project would take off from Chennai and it would use ISM
band as its specified frequency.
