GCL in pact with enmail.com

CHENNAI, OCT. 2. Gemini Communications (GCL), a total networking solutions provider, and enmail.com Private Limited, an application service provider of email and messaging services, have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop and market customised networking and messaging solutions.

Addressing a press conference here today, Mr. Ram Kumer, CEO of Gemini Communications, said the alliance would develop, deliver and market wireless e-mail services for business subscribers. Both the partners had proposed to promote the technology in the growing rural segment of Internet users, apart from the urban users.

He said the company had offices in ten cities in the country and one in the U.S. Last year, the company's networking division had generated a revenue of Rs. 21 crores.

Mr. Karthik Iyer, CEO of enmail.com, said the company was targeting the large segment of Indian corporates. He said the pilot project would take off from Chennai and it would use ISM band as its specified frequency.
