A traveller's companion
If you happen to be visiting any part of Tamil Nadu for the first
time and are not too familiar with the topography, then what
might be of immense use is the Tamil Nadu Map Guidebook. A
perfect companion for those travelling to any part of the State,
the guide lists places of tourist interest with brief
descriptions and relevant information.
Also available are addresses of all the hotels in the major
cities of Chennai, Thanjavur, Coimbatore, Tiruchirapalli and even
Mamallapuram. The book has been brought out by Vishnu Maps
Publications.
The district-wise division makes it easier for the browser. A
brief introduction of the district precedes the tourist locations
that include temples, museums, bird sanctuaries, forts and the
like.
Priced at an affordable Rs. 40, the guide also has a digital map
of the State attached, with colour photographs of some well-known
landmarks such as the Hogenakkal Falls and the Tidel Park. The
map also indicates State headquarters, towns, railway lines and
so on.
The wall map that has been brought out by the same company is
useful for schools and colleges as well as other institutions.
The map has a separate inset map with geographical features...
lakes, rivers, mountains and the plains. The wall map is priced
Rs. 100.
Available at major bookstores or at Vishnu Maps Publications, B-
5, Sree Balaa Ganesh Apartments, 3 (old No. 2), Station Road,
West Mambalam (Ph: 4712939).
