Ahmedabad ATC denial
By Manas Dasgupta
AHMEDABAD, OCT. 4. The Ahmedabad airport authorities have denied
that the Air Traffic Control (ATC) sent any message to the pilot
of the Mumbai-Delhi Alliance Air flight about the alleged
hijacking.
The Director of the Ahmedabad airport, Mr. R.C. Chitkara, today
said the ATC had not received any such message and so, there was
no question of alerting the pilot.
The transcript of all the incoming and outgoing messages would be
sent to the Commissioner of Civil Aviation, Security, by tonight
for perusal. He could not say how the Ahmedabad ATC's name came
up in the ``drama'' but said, ``we are absolutely in the clear,
no such message has gone from here.''
