Number plates: time extended
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI, OCT. 4. The date of introduction of the proposed new
high security registration plates for vehicles in the country has
been postponed to June 30, 2002.
A decision in this regard has been taken in view of some
newspaper advertisements by some manufacturers/ suppliers/vendors
inviting applications for franchisees for these plates.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has clarified that so
far no high security registration plates have been tested and
approved by any of the authorised testing agencies of the Central
Government.
