DMK chief wants Pak. to stop aiding terrorism

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI, OCT. 4. The DMK president, Mr. M. Karunanidhi, today came out in strong support of the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, and demanded that Pakistan put an end to its support to terrorists and their activities.

Recalling his long association with Dr. Farooq Abdullah, his father, Dr. Sheikh Abdullah and his son, Mr. Omar Abdullah, he said he was engulfed in sorrow watching Dr. Abdullah break down in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.

Mr. Karunanidhi said that it was time all Indians were united against terrorists and their designs. Pakistan should ``on its own'' come forward to stamp out terrorism, he said. Terrorism does not manifest itself only in the image of a Osama bin Laden, he said and added that Pakistan should accept it was very much alive in its own backyard. People indulging in such attacks were not freedom fighters, but terrorists, he added.
