Court raps 'Cyberabad' goings-on
By Our Legal Correspondent
HYDERABAD, OCT. 4. Mr. Justice B. Sudershan Reddy of the A.P.
High Court on Thursday directed the Municipal Administration
Department to produce the file pertaining to the proposed
notification for `Cyberabad'.
The court took serious note of the action of the authorities to
keep everything pending in the name of `Cyberabad'. The judge was
dealing with a writ petition filed by Ms. Satyavati who
complained that the authorities had not permitted her to
construct a house in Serilingampally.
The court was informed that the authorities were asked not to
permit any new constructions till the final notification was
issued. Mr. Justice Reddy wondered how all the statutes and rules
were kept in abeyance in anticipation of a notification. The case
has been adjourned to next week and the authorities have been
asked to produce relevant files.
Plea against Bharat Biotech admitted
Mr. Justice Sudershan Reddy on Thursday admitted a writ petition
filed by Dr. P.M. Bhargava, scientist, seeking a direction to
restrain the Bharat Biotech from manufacturing hepatitis-B
vaccine with some unauthorised formula.
The judge directed the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology
to submit a report by Tuesday on the vaccines manufactured by the
Bharat Biotech. The writ petition was filed complaining against
the action of the authorities in not taking steps to investigate
the complaints against the Bharat Biotech.
The petitioner alleged that the Biotech was manufacturing the
vaccine with `Pichia Pastoris' against rules and the law and said
it lacked the potency.
The judge adjourned the case to Wednesday and directed the CCMB
to analyse and test three vaccines prepared by the Bharat
Biotech. The samples would be collected from the petitioner,
Bharat Biotech and open market.
