Two nabbed at cafe, weapons recovered

HYDERABAD, OCT. 4. Two persons allegedly involved in the purchase and sale of weapons were arrested at a cafe in Bowenpally by the Operation Cell team on Thursday. A tapancha, 12 bore live catridges, a revolver with two live rounds, four detonators and a tapancha of 2.8 mm were seized.

One of the accused person, Shiv Shankar Yadav of Indiranagar in Trimulghery was involved in a stabbing case under Bowenpally police station limits and two other cases under Alwal police station limits. He used to acquire weapons with the help of his accomplice, Mohd. Dudekula Masthan, of Amedkarnagar in Lalbazar.

Commending the Operation Cell team, the Police Commissioner, Mr. P. Ramulu, promoted the constable, Mr. K. Lakshmaiah, to the rank of head constable.

Youth arrested

A youth, Boini Murali (26), possessing two passports and fake educational certificates was apprehended by Task Force sleuths on Thursday. Investigations revealed that Murali, a resident of Dabeerpura, studied up to seventh class and acquired fake 10th and Intermediate certificates from one Mohd. Abdul Shahid of Yakutpura.

He went to Cyprus on an education visa and stayed there beyond the stipulated time doing petty jobs. On his return, he obtained another passport with a false address from one Rafeeq of Kalapathar. Both Shahid and Rafeeq are absconding.

Fake certificates seized

One Syed Wajid Ali who reportedly indulged in printing and circulating of fake certificates was arrested by the Task Force. Several blank certificates of B.A. and B.Tech courses of Osmania and Nagarjuna universities, stamps of Saudi Arabia and monogrmas and dyes used in preparation of certificates were seized.

Dhaba owners held

Owners of two dhabas who were allegedly supplying liquor to consumers without licence were arrested by Prohibition and Excise Task Force sleuths at Kompalli and Jeedimetla on Wednesday. The accused persons -- Raju Kumar and Rajesh Mallik -- have been handed over to the Medchal police.
