'Gandhian ideals, more relevant now'
By Our Staff Reporter
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, OCT. 5. The Chief Minister, Mr. A.K. Antony,
has stressed the need for upholding Gandhian ideals in daily
life.
Speaking at a function organised here today by the Kerala Gandhi
Smaraka Nidhi in connection with the release of the book,
`Gandhism in the 21st Century' written by Mr. A. Sujanapal, MLA,
Mr. Antony said that if one wished to see the millennium free
from war and terrorism, the ideals of Gandhiji should be given
more importance by world leaders. At a time when nations,
political parties and people are competing with each other to
settle scores, the message of non-violence has more relevance, he
added.
The first copy of the book was received by the Marxist
ideologue, Mr. P. Govinda Pillai. The Parliamentary Affairs
Minister, Mr. M.M. Hassan, the secretary of the Gandhi Smaraka
Nidhi, Mr. P. Gopinathan Nair, and Mr. Sujanapal were among those
who spoke on the occasion.
