People flock to Himayathsagar, Osmansagar
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD, OCT. 7. The popular picnic spot of Himayathsagar was
brimming with people flocking to watch the water gushing out of
the reservoir on Sunday. The inflows into the reservoir following
heavy rains during the last week led to the authorities opening
the crest gates today.
People in large numbers including children and the elderly lined
up along the bund and watched the water flowing out of the
reservoir. The nearby Osmansagar reservoir which also received
good inflows in the last one week too attracted large crowds on
Sunday.
Meanwhile, the problems of waterlogging and inundation continued
to affect the normal life in several parts of the City. The
Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad Control Room received several
complaints of waterlogging from Khairtabad, Lakdi-ka-pul, Gandhi
Bhavan, Bilal Nagar, Rajeev Gandhi Nagar and parts of Uppal. The
MCH teams worked till late in the night clearing these places of
waterlogging.
