Khaleda takes oath as MP


DHAKA, OCT. 9. Begum Khaleda Zia, whose four-party alliance swept last week's parliamentary elections in Bangladesh, took oath of office as MP, a day before she is to be sworn in Prime Minister.

She recited a verse from the Koran, as the outgoing Speaker, Mr. Abdul Hamid, conducted the ceremony in the Parliament building.
