Sailor killed in mishap

VISAKHAPATNAM, OCT. 9. A junior sailor was killed in an accident on board a warship, INS Sharab, while Army tanks were being loaded onto the ship at the Naval Base here on Tuesday.

According to Police, Pankaj Kumar Singh (20), a sailor of the rank of Shipwright-V, was crushed between the doors of a hatch which accidentally closed due to a technical fault while the tanks were being uploaded.The sailor died while being rushed to the hospital, INHS Kalyani. The naval police informed the Malkapuram police of the incident.
