Photo ID cards for Hyderabadis

HYDERABAD, OCT. 9. The Chief Minister, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu,
on Tuesday instructed the authorities to issue photo identity
cards to people in Hyderabad on a war-footing.
At a meeting on law and order and disaster management, held in
the backdrop of the happenings in Afghanistan, the Chief Minister
directed the Chief Secretary to convene a high-level meeting,
comprising officials belonging to the Defence, the Railways, the
Navy and other important organisations, to assess the security
arrangements.
He instructed the officials to step-up security at the
Secretariat, MLA quarters, all airports in the State and major
places of worship. He also directed the authorities to install
closed-circuit cameras at all vulnerable points in the State
capital and also on roads leading to the exit points in the city.
the Home Minister, Mr. T. Devender Goud, the Security Consultant,
Mr. Subrahmanyam, the Director-General of Police, Mr. H.J. Dora,
the Principal Secretary, Home, Mr. Bharat Chandra, the City
Police Commissioner, Mr. P. Ramulu, and the Secretary, Political,
Mr. A.K. Kutty, attended the meeting.
