Cyberabad all set to become a reality
By Our Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD, OCT. 9. The State Government will accord approval for
the draft master plan and issue orders on the formation of
Cyberabad by this month-end. This was announced at a review
meeting on Cyberabad held by the Chief Minister, Mr. N.
Chandrababu Naidu, at the Secretariat today.
The Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) would issue a
notification under Section 10 of the Andhra Pradesh Urban Areas
(Development) Act to bring the master plan into force. After the
notification, permissions would be granted as per the statutory
plan from November 1 onwards.
It may be recalled that as per the recommendations of the State
Investment Promotion Board, the Cabinet Sub-Committee and the
HUDA, the Government constituted a high-power committee with the
Director-General, National Academy of Construction, as Chairman,
to monitor matters concerning Cyberabad. The Government
constituted the Cyberabad Development Authority (CDA) and also
notified its jurisdiction, with 17 villages and 51.70 sq km of
area.
The Vice-Chairman of HUDA would look after the administrative
affairs of the CDA till the constitution of a full-fledged
authority. The HUDA already notified a draft master plan for
which 677 objections and suggestions were received. The Chief
Minister directed the HUDA to prepare an action and operational
plan on Cyberabad by October 20 and a city mapping plan by using
the Global Positioning System.
The Chief Minister asked the HUDA to complete the work relating
to the construction of the Brahmananda Reddy Park compound at the
earliest. He asked them to plant more trees and to study the
correlation between excess rain received in Hyderabad and the
greenery developed in the City.
The Minister for Roads and Buildings, Mr. K. Vijayarama Rao, the
Chief Secretary, Mr. P.V. Rao, the Secretary, Municipal
Administration, Mr. A.K. Goyal, the Vice-Chairman of HUDA, Ms.
Lakshmi Parthasarathy, and the Collector, RR District, Mr. Ajay
Jain, attended the review meeting.
