Double standards
Sir,- I am shocked by the double standards of the Government when
it comes to speaking out against terrorism, having seen the
October 1984 massacre of Sikhs in Delhi when the State police
acted at the bidding of higher-ups. The politicians in power
sided with mobs who hounded out innocent Sikh victims, burning
them alive, destroying their properties and perpetrating worst
crimes on their women. But justice still eludes the victims while
the guilty continue to enjoy power, perks and prestige. Tainted
police officials got promotions.
Is denying justice on such an immense scale really not terrorism
wreaked by the state on its innocent citizens?
Kanwaljit,
Delhi
