JP followers pledge to carry forward his work
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI, OCT. 10. It was an unusual assembly as former
associates and followers of Jayaprakash Narayan ranging from
Union Ministers to a former Minister from Nepal, social activists
and some who renounced dacoity heeding the Lok Nayak.
They all joined hands to pay tributes to JP.
At a meet organised by the Janata Dal (United) to mark the birth
centenary celebrations of Jayaprakash Narayan here today, they
pledged to carry forward the work of JP who is best remembered
for his call for total revolution.
The JD(U) chief, Mr. Sharad Yadav, said political workers like
him inspired by Jayaprakash Narayan, have failed to kindle the
spirit among the youth now.
Both the Railway Minister, Mr. Nitish Kumar, and Mr. Yadav said
it was time for the leaders to discuss the present-day challenges
with the youth and come up with new ideas.
The Union Minister, Mr. Braja Kishore Tripathy, the former Nepal
Minister, Mr. Charka Vastola, and senior Nepal Congress leader,
Mr. Pradeep Giri, also spoke.
