Station masters stage dharna
By Our Staff Reporter
CHENNAI, OCT. 10. Over 100 members of the All India Station
Masters' Association staged a demonstration today near the office
of the General Manager, Southern Railway, in support of a 10-
point charter of demands.
The association sought favourable orders on `running allowance'
and uniform, posting of supervisory station masters (SM) at all
stations and welfare inspectors at all junctions, apart from
streamlining payments through SMs.
The association also demanded filling of vacancies and declaring
ex-cadre posts as working posts, in addition to payment of
overtime, furnishing details regarding PF and leave, and release
of transfer orders without prejudice, every year.
