Rain turn roads into water pools
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD, OCT. 10. Heavy rain lashed several parts of the twin
cities on Wednesday evening catching people unawares and creating
traffic snarls at various places.
The heavy downpour that lasted for nearly two hours left several
main roads like the Raj Bhavan road, Basheerbagh and Masab tank,
submerged in waist deep water. Rainwater entered the Phoolbagh
slum, besides the Basheerbagh flyover.
The usual spectacle of huge traffic hold-ups and roads under
sheets of water unfolded again. Vehicles moved at a snail's pace
and traffic on important thoroughfares like Begumpet, Somajiguda,
Basheerbagh, Lakdikapul eased only after a few agonising hours
after the downpour.
