UbiNetics sets up new office
By Our Staff Reporter
BANGALORE, OCT. 10. UbiNetics opened its new office in Bangalore
to increase its application development and testing capabilities.
This is the third R&D centre for the next generation wireless
communications technology company and the first outside the U.K.
The facility will play a key role in UbiNetics' overall R&D
strategy due to the knowledge pool available in the city,
according to UbiNetics CEO, Mr. Bjorn Krylander. ``The move is a
direct response to the increasing momentum of the 3G mobile
market," he said.
In addition to the development of protocol software, the team of
developers at the R&D centre in Bangalore will also undertake
application development to support UbiNetics' activities in the
test and measurement of 3G technologies. This will enable
UbiNetics to reinforce its position in the 3G testing area,
asserted Mr. Krylander.
The new centre will develop 3G terminal software conforming to
UMTS standards and a UMTS/GSM/GPRS multi-mode protocol software.
Besides this, the development centre will offer 3G protocol
testing and customer support. The Bangalore centre has a capacity
to accommodate up to 150 engineers.
