U.S. must restrict attacks, says Pak.

ISLAMABAD, OCT. 12. Pakistan today said it would not endorse any U.S.-led military campaign against other Muslim countries beyond Afghanistan and asserted that the present operations should be confined to implementation of U.N. resolutions on the Taliban regime.

The Foreign Minister, Mr. Abdul Sattar, said Pakistan would follow the Security Council resolutions of September 12, which did not permit the U.S. to carry out operations in any other Muslim country.

``Our policy is cast in the mould of the U.N. resolutions,'' he was quoted by media here.

``Some countries might have apprehended that the U.S. operation would extend to them. There is no evidence, whatsoever, the operation would be expanded to other countries.''

Referring to the outcome of the meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) at Doha, Mr. Sattar said the meet recognised that the Muslim world needed to be focussed and come out as speedily as possible with a clear position on the issues emerging out of the crisis over Afghanistan.
