Lip service, no more
Sir, - After the terrorist attack on the Jammu and Kashmir
Assembly, the Prime Minister sent a strongly-worded letter to Mr.
Bush, complaining of Pakistan's involvement in the incident. What
did Mr. Vajpayee intend doing if the U.S. did not take note of
the letter, which is evident from the statements emanating from
Washington? The U.S. is still only ``considering'' the inclusion
of the Jaish-e-Mohammed in the list of terrorist organisations
and has outrightly refused to accept Pakistan as a country
harbouring terrorists. We should remember that, other than
issuing routine statements, the U.S. or Britain is not bothered
about Kashmir.
