Oktoberfest with a Knight

THIS IS not just another night's tale. It's tale of a night with a capital K. Well, `A Knight's Tale', inspired from Chaucer's `Canterbury Tales' hit the town on Friday.

Columbia Tristar had at least three special screenings this week, and a special party thrown at HFO in association with Events, to kickstart its promotion in style.

Wednesday night was loaded with action and music, as party animals of all ages, creeds and attire shook Hell out of its balance-not a mob of a crowd, but it was quite a packed hall especially, considering that it was in the middle of the week, when party animals usually hibernate.

But let us quickly add here, that it was not the regular crowd, it was a more unique kind in more ways than one. It was quite an interesting sight to watch the fusion of Indian and Western, as saree-clad dancers hit the trendy dance floor that flickered with laser lights.

First, it was DJ Rudy's turn to play to the crowd, throwing in `We will rock you' from the soundtrack and `We are the champions' to get the crowd into the groove.

Aadaam took charge later in the night when he played some hardcore trance and techno, as he took the crowd on an `acid' trip. Perfect foil to the movie that reviewers from the world over describe as a mix of ``pop-culture styles that span centuries with an unerring sense of fun and romance''.

This action packed tale of the `Knight' William (Heath Ledger) is a saga of love-for his maiden Jocelyn (Shannyn Sossamon) and hate-for his archrival Count Adhemar (Rufus Sewell). Interesting mix.
